The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry has taken such an interesting trend from being the first Chamber of Commerce in the Arabian Gulf which was established in 1939 in Bahrain with the name, “General Traders’ Association” which was later changed to “Bahrain Chamber of Commerce” in 1945 and finally in 1967, it acquired the present name “Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry” (BCCI).
The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) plays a major role in shaping the national economy of Bahrain by enhancing the growth and expansion of the private sector alongside the public sector. The BCCI is aimed at building an environment that makes businesses flourish and grow and being a sole representative and advocate of the private sector which can be seen in the growing base of its members.
Application to be a member of the BCCI is quite easy, all you need is to register your new membership via the website of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, https://www.sijilat.bh. Membership qualifications include the following:
- a passport
- valid commercial register
- the BIC commercial registration form (for companies)
- the articles of incorporation (for companies)
- the company’s articles of association (if any)
- the power of attorney (if any)
