The Utah corporation division and commercial code are aimed at strengthening trust in Utah’s marketplace by facilitating corporate and commercial code filings and providing the public with reliable information. These objectives are achieved through providing a platform where business entities can receive the services of business search, business registration, business renewal, updating of business, reinstating of a business, filing, or searching of UCC or CFS, and education Hub.
Business Search
The business search includes the search for a business name, number, and executive name. Businesses registered with the state of Utah are all in the database of the division of corporate and commercial code, these include business trusts, collection agencies, corporations (for-profit and nonprofit), professional corporations, Limited liability companies – LLCs, limited liability partnerships – LLP, Limited partnerships – LP, limited corporative association – LCA.
Certificate of Existence
It is also known as a certificate of good standing, it is an official document issued by the Utah division of a corporation, validating that a business is authorized to trade or do a transaction, and complies with all the state requirements.
Register a business
There are two options for business registration, they are:
One-Stop Business Registration
Through online business registration or One Stop Business Registration, the website of One Stop Business Registration helps those business entities who wish to register their business with the Division of corporations and commercial code, as well as with another state/city agencies. The website is for those business entities, the website does not allow existing registered business entities to register a Doing Business AS (DBA).
Doing Business As (DBA) online registration
The creation of the Doing Business As (DBA) is to allow existing owners, business entities, and individuals wishing to do business transactions under an assumed name. there is a non-refundable processing fee to perform the task.
Renew your business
This includes renewing, updating, or reinstating Utah business entities.
Renewal of a business entity or multiple businesses are available to an active business entity with an active status, renewal is due 60 days before the date of expiration of the business (issue date); business entities in a delinquent status that are 30 days after expiration date (issue date) can also be renewed. Reinstatement is restricted to only LLCs and LPs. You can also update the details of your business using the website.
File or search for UCC or CFS
You can file or search for Utah’s commercial code, all you need to do to log in is have a Utah ID.

Electronic documents
To quickly obtain electronic copies of a filed document and/or certificates of existence is by do a business search, after finding the business entity you are looking for, click on the details of the entity.
At the bottom of the screen there are 3 options: search for images is the 1st option, click on the button to search for scanned images of the entity you are searching for. The images will be emailed to you after paying a fee for the service. On the details page of the business entity, you can use the 2nd option to order a certificate of existence by clicking on the purchase certificate of existence button.
Certified documents In-House
To get a physical certified document or copy, you need to order them in-house which can be done in person, in writing, or by using Fax. A written request can be made with the division of corporation order form, it takes 7-10 business days to get copies and/or the certificate you ordered through written request.
